Hello Guys, sorry its been forever since my last post I have been traveling and then moving, say what??? yup! we are moving!!!! Now we will be in Monterrey Mexico for a little bit, so I have been so busy first with the packing and then finding a house. Today I am super excited that we found a house and we are closing TODAY! I will be back into my normal self.
MEXICO LINDO Y QUERIDO
Here is a little bit of our first week here in Mexico, it has been stressful for say the least, we were very happy in San Antonio and was not in our plans to come back. My boys “HOME” its San Antonio, and it was all very sudden… here is how it started
THE HARDEST NEWS
In March my husband traveled to Nuevo Laredo to renovate my nanny’s visa and they called him into the Consulate and after many long and stressful hours he came out and I received the hardest call up to date, the revoked his working visa and also his tourist visa.
I remember I was at a lunch with friends and went out to talk to him and just my world crashed!!! It was mid semester and the kids at school. I couldn’t stop crying for hours or maybe days. After talking to several Lawyers we decided it was best to let the boys finish school and then go back to Mexico. Always thinking we could renovate our visa. This time for an inversionist visa knowing it would take about 4 months just to gather all the paperwork but then allowing us to pay an “expedited case” and resolve within 2 weeks. Plenty of time to come back before school starts.
ME, MY BOYS AND I
During this time I stayed in San Antonio by myself with the boys and my husband was in Monterrey, it was hard for me and the boys as we were very used to having him around and to be honest helping me A LOT! I saw some changes in the boys, you could see an angrier Emiliano, a sadder Cristobal, much more tantrums from Benjamin, even he had a lot of bad weeks at school, ending with him visiting the therapist at school and a very clingy Lorenzo, always wanted to be held and much more time with his pacifier.
STRESSFUL MONTHS
Those 4-5 months pass and all the paperwork ready and the day that we were supposed to apply to this visa we found out that we can’t pay the expedited as we are out of Us and this will only apply to people within the US, and that right now it takes the Consulate an average of 4-5 months to get to the case and in that time we will know if they will grant the visa or deny it.
THE HARDEST DECISION OF MY LIFE
So basically last week when all this happened decided to move to Mexico, I was in San Antonio by myself with the boys (just traveling after spending almost 7 weeks in Mexico and tired of living on suitcases and sleeping all of us in 1 2 rooms at my parents house, which graciously had us)
WE CAN PLAN BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN THAT THAT WILL HAPPEN
This time was different the papers were almost all done and we were going to San Antonio and then meeting Armando at the most in 2 weeks at Juarez where the interview was supposed to happen, after those 2 weeks in San Antonio we found out “yet another news” about the time frame (mention above) and decided to move back.
MOVING DECLUTTERED
In 1 week I packed, donated (about half of my house) to Goodwill and throw everything I could think of, grab my car and move back to Mexico. Our plans are to rent the house completely furnished. Wait one year and see if the boys are happy here or we need to rethink moving back. (hopping we can granted with a new visa).
This week was by say the least busy, tiring and with many decision-making from where we will live. What school the boys will go to? if we should sell or rent the house? if we need to bring our things or buy new ones?
But after the last very unusual couple of months I can say that all of this news has made us stronger and very very happy to be back all together, boys need their father and I needed my husband.
P.S. THIS ARE SOME RANDOM PICS OF MY LAST DAYS IN SAN ANTONIO AND OUR FIRST WEEK HERE IN MONTERREY!
thanks for reading my big news and until next time! don’t forget to follow us on instagram for daily posts.
xoxo
