The 18 Summers with your kids

Hello girlfriends, how are you this week? So this week I decided to write a parenting blog as its been a while now. Currently mi kids are outside playing on a inflatable so they are giving me time to write. Lately I have heard on several random places that we only have 18 summers with our kids and this idea really hit me.

To be honest I don’t think there is even 18 summer is the last ones they decide instead to spend it with their friends or studying abroad. This idea really scared me thinking that Emiliano is almost 13 so really I have at most 6 more summers enjoying him to the fullest.

Right now we are entering a Summer break and I bet you already feel like its a lot to take assuming you have been in lock down since 3-4 months ago. But as moms we need to have this big picture that in reality we only have 18 summers with them so we need to make the most of it.

I have been reading and investigating a bit on how do we connect with our kids and make bonds strong. I wanted to pass along different things you can do with your kids.

First of all we need one on one quality non interrupted time with them. It is recommended to do a date with each of your kids (just you or just the father) with no other one invited and spend at least 4 hours without any distraction like phones. For better results its recommended to do this every 90 days.

So my husband and I just made a commitment and a plan. Every 10-15 days we will take each of the boys on a date (one on one) we are letting them choose whatever they like.

We are making a promise that for 4 hours we will turn off our phones. Just spend really quality time with them. We have 4 kids and each have to have their own date every 90 days. This may look different for you depending on the number of kids. so for example the 1st Husband with Emiliano. The 10th Husband with Cris. The 20TH Husband with Benjamin and the 30Th husband with lorenzo. Then the 10th of next month I start with Emiliano. 10 days later Cris then Benjamin and Lorenzo. Then after 90 days have passed from the first date we start all over again.

I really recommend doing this with your kids you will see that it will not only improve your relationship. Also will create a unbreakable bond with each of your kids.

Hoping this tip will help you as I am sure it will help me.

until next time

xoxo
